MORE ABOUT ME...

Laura Janneck is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and received her
ScB in Human Biology with a focus on international health from Brown
University. Laura is now a medical student at Case Western
Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. During
medical school, she spent a summer in Guatemala studying Spanish,
where she worked with villagers who had been displaced from their land
by hurricane Stan, and in a pediatric medical clinic outside
Quetzaltenango. She also returned to South Africa to conduct a study
on urban food insecurity in Johannesburg. Within AMSA, she is now the
Global Health Education Coordinator, and is designing
and running the Global Health Scholars Program this year, as well as
developing a network of medical students who are designing global
health curricula at their schools. This year, she is taking a year of leave from
medical school to pursue an MPH in International Health at Harvard
University.
